KS2 - Robotic Days (Lego Spike)
Pupils will use a range of kits to build robots and control them using coding through a range of apps. Completing challenges and tasks throughout the day using the skills they have gained.

LEGO SPIKE Essential is a hands-on STEAM learning system designed for primary-aged pupils.
It combines colourful LEGO bricks, easy-to-use hardware, and an intuitive coding environment to help children learn essential skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and maths
SPIKE Essential is programmed using the LEGO Education SPIKE app, which offers:
Block-based coding (similar to Scratch) that’s highly visual and beginner-friendly.
Clear, progressive lessons that guide pupils from simple “trigger and action” commands to more complex sequences, loops, and conditional logic.
Opportunities for pupils to debug their code, refining and problem-solving as they go.
What the session could include
- Classroom Activities will include:
- STEM challenges such as designing a vehicle, amusement ride, or rescue device.
- Cross-curricular work linking coding to literacy, numeracy, or topic-based themes.
- Storytelling projects where pupils animate characters they’ve built.
