In today’s education landscape, schools are facing increasing challenges around harmful sexual behaviour (HSB), problematic sexual behaviour (PSB), and sexualised language and content among children and young people. The Equilibrium Project, part of Engagedu’s safeguarding services, is a structured, evidence-based programme designed to help schools tackle these complex issues with compassion, clarity and confidence.
We work closely with your staff, students, and leadership team to create a safer, more respectful school culture—grounded in understanding, early intervention, and whole-school support.
🧩 What is the Equilibrium Project?
Developed in collaboration with experienced behaviour and wellbeing consultants, the Equilibrium Project helps schools respond proactively to concerns raised in national reports such as the Ofsted Review into Sexual Abuse in Schools and Colleges (2021) and The Children’s Commissioner’s subsequent findings.
Our approach is built on three core phases, each tailored to your school’s needs:

We begin by gaining a clear understanding of the issues within your setting through both quantitative and qualitative research.
This includes:

Pupil and staff online surveys

Focus groups (separated by gender) facilitated by experienced researchers

A bespoke analysis and feedback report, highlighting key trends, concerns and strengths
🧠 Phase 2: Training & Organisational Support
Based on your school’s data, we deliver tailored training and strategic support to empower your staff and refine your policies and curriculum.
This phase includes:

Whole-staff and governor training (with scenario-based discussion)
